S3E18: Bridging Cultures in Medicine

Jan 23, 2020

Native American voices and stories are very few in a lot of conversations—but that doesn't mean they're silent. Sometimes, one voice is enough to influence and create positive change. In this episode, Margaux and Harjit talks to Celessta Merrill, an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), about the barriers she's had to overcome in the field of medicine, as well as health barriers for Native Americans.

S3E17: Finding Stability in Medicine

Jan 16, 2020

A common consensus in med school is that the hard part is getting in. But truth is, a lot of us worry about whether or not we'll actually become physicians. Med school can be filled with a lot of doubts, especially if you feel like you haven't found stability in the field of medicine. In this episode, Harjit and Leen talk about stress and burdens they've felt about stability—or lack thereof— in medicine as people of color.

S3E16: Stortelling with Eli Saslow

Jan 16, 2020

The stories we tell about who we are, who we've been, and who we want to become are important. Everyone deserves to have their stories told and heard, no matter the content. In this episode, we have a conversation with The Washington Post's Eli Saslow about his book, Rising Out of Hatred: The Awakening of a Former White Nationalist and the importance of storytelling.
